More Tembec Fun.....
After the chemical spill earlier this week, Tembec has moved to trucking 1.5 million litres of waste chemicals from the Marathon Pulp mill to the spill basin.
Today, protesters from the neighbouring Pic River First Nation, along with about 40 people from the town of Marathon, Ontario blocked the gates to the spill basin access road.
The Pic River First Nation says the chemical transfer impacts their territorial rights.
An emergency meeting will be held tonight with representatives from Marathon, Pic River, Tembec, and the Ministry of the Environment.

It is now December 12th, and the blockade is going strong. There are no signs of backing down and all who stand at the gate, say they will continue to do so.... Myself included. Tembec needs to take their black liqours home with them. We dont want them dumped in our backyard.

Keep up the good fight, Erin.
Ultimately, I wish every employee of Tembec would walk off the job in protest against the way this company has behaved in the communities it operates in.

Thank you. I agree. I dont know how ppl can stand back and let this happen... whether they work for Tembec or not. It is wrong, on many levels. It needs to come to a stop. Im hoping it does and I wont give up that hope. I know I have alot of ppl standing with me who feel the same way. Until the end, we will remain.
