Hmmmmmmmmm Let me guess. Sorry guys and gals but due to unforeseen circumstances and a bad global economy there is no demand for our lumber and with lumber prices at all time lows we will not be returning. We are foreseeing the mills to go back early June as that is when WE THINK that the lumber market will pick up again.

I heard that the Oil rigs (that are working) are in need of rig matting, so if true at least the sawmills will be starting up fairly soon to provide that. But for the planers 2X4 is at $175 and our dollar is around $.82, so all we need is a miracle to start the planers up.

:-/Even though Tembec has the ten year contract for the cogen plant, doesn't mean they are interested in firing up any mills.lumber still at a low and the pulp market sucking dust we may be out till next year..they can still get their chips cheaper elsewhere...have not heard a thing from tembec on mill start ups.

You are right!!! if it is cheaper to keep the competition working and buy their chips and flooding the market with wood, why would Tembec fire up the mills. They tell us that there is no market but continue to buy hog fuel and chips from the companies that are causing the supply of wood to be so high. Too bad the mines quit hiring!!!

Looks like chips are the way to go...lets all get together and buy a chipper...the contractors out there would love to sell the sawlogs to us...hehe ...or maybe the buy the sawmills and turn them into chipper mills....

I heard through the grape vine that the Pulp Mill will be going down for 3 month starting June 15. With the new contract to supply BC Hydro they can make more money selling power than running the Pulp mill, so they will be using existing chips as hog to burn for fuel for it. So the Mills will not be firing back up to Early September.

I heard the same rumor Canal Guest 2. Maybe it is true? I wish we had some Info from the Company to Confirm or Deny. I guess over all, what can you do if it is true. Sit and wait or go work at Burger King.

It's true, the company announced to us at Elko today that we're shutting down again for three weeks starting June 15 because of the dollar. They say we'll be back up July 6. Don't know if I believe them though.

Ok Lumber Friday went up to $213 and the Dollar went down to 89.78 So Tembec said in paper if lumber was at $200 and the dollar was at $92 they could run. So are they going to look at things and not shut mills down its better then what they wanted
