Check out this February 11, 2009 newstory. Despite the USW wage cut, this pulp mill closed anyways. Could this be us? "Marathon Pulp Inc. will shut down its pulp mill indefinitely, affecting 230 employees in the small northern Ontario town. "The mill, which is located on the northern shore of Lake Superior, is jointly owned by Quebec companies Tembec and Kruger. "The decision to close the mill is disappointing because the workers at the plant had already agreed to cut their pay by 12.5 per cent in November in an effort to help the company, said United Steelworkers spokesman Herb Daniher said." here is the link - www.cbc.ca/money/story/2009/02/11/marathon-pulp.html
